Of course, Gregory has been open about the fact that depression and anxiety are ongoing conditions he continues to manage. But he seems to be in a much better place compared to when he first stepped away from Meet the Press. He is still involved in the media world he loves in a capacity that works for him. He has more time for family, travel, hobbies, and taking care of himself.

Lifestyle Changes

In a 2022 interview, Gregory said the past few years have “given me a greater sense of purpose and fulfillment and opportunity.” He also courageously noted that, although not cured, he feels his depression has “greatly improved” through lifestyle changes like more sleep, exercise, and therapy.

“How’s your faith?” – David Gregory

After struggling in his career, David Gregory turned to spirituality. He wrote a book about his faith called “How’s Your Faith”. He said, “That difficult time tested me. I asked myself, ‘What kind of father do I want to be for my kids?'” He tried to understand why he was struggling and what God wanted from him. He credits his wife, Beth Wilkinson, for helping him deepen his religious knowledge despite his Jewish upbringing.

Wilkinson pushed Gregory to find clear answers about his faith in order to be free. He then actively sought a deeper understanding of God and spirituality.

Gregory’s journey reminds us that even the most successful need to pause sometimes and prioritize health. While he chooses to keep his personal life largely private, all indications point to Gregory being in a healthy place right now, while still doing work he loves on his own terms.
